Listen. Learn. Lead.
Educator, Parent, and
Community Leader-
A Unique Perspective
My name is Pat Urbi. I represent Area 1 ( Guy Emanuele Elementary and Conley- Caraballo High School). I am a Bay Area native who grew up in Newark and raised my family in Union City. My sons graduated from James Logan High School, and my wife is a counselor at Logan.
I have been an integral volunteer for programs such as Forensics, Water Polo, and Wrestling. I have served on numerous district committees, such as the Equity Council, the Grading and Assessment Task Force, School Safety, and Bond Measures.
I am the ONLY candidate with practical experience teaching and serving as a site administrator in New Haven Unified. I taught at Cabello, Delaine Eastin, and Guy Emanuele Elementary Schools. I was a site administrator for Alvarado Elementary, Guy Emanuele Elementary, the former Barnard-White Middle School, and the former Alvarado Middle School.
After over 30 years of service, I retired from the New Haven Unified School District. Yet, I continue to serve students by coaching principals and serving as a guest administrator in San Lorenzo Unified and Newark Unified.
A solid educational foundation has supported my career. I hold a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from California State University, East Bay, and multiple credentials, including a Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential and a Professional Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. This foundation is further strengthened by a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science focusing on Public Affairs and Administration.
Vision
My vision is grounded in educational equity, fostering collaboration among educational partners, and ensuring every student receives a quality education and support services. With my extensive experience and community relationships, I aim to build on our community’s cultural wealth, enact meaningful change, and empower students, families, and educators.
